It is nothing like mars here

I could see you from space if I tried,
even on mars if I squinted my eyes hard enough.

has my sight grown worse since the last time in the telescope

or has it been you
in my jean pocket
collapsed inside the marble that fits between my fingers-

i must stop confusing hills
for planets
